Blowout

Blowout is a series of photographs of disfigured automobile tires. I build structures with mangled tire fragments. I arrange the wreckage on a pedestal. I photograph each arrangement against a black background using strobe lights. I like the sculptural nature and gestural similarity the tires share with the human form. I set out to explore this relationship.
